More About Deidre:

Deidre received all three of her degrees from Tiffin University.

Associates: Business Administration

 

Bachelors: Business Administration

 

Masters: Business Administration with a focus in Human Resources.

 

Deidre got her start in HR working part time and has climbed the ladder to now director of HR. When not in the office she enjoys attending her kids Maddie and Sawyer sporting events. Maddie plays soccer and softball while  Sawyer plays football and baseball.

 

Career Development Plan

Short Term Goals

  • Establish a more user-friendly wellness plan at Tiffin University

  • Use this as a platform towards establishing a healthy lifestyle as an organization.

Steps to take to meet short term goals:

  • Inviting employees to workout sessions designed and lead by me and Strength Coach Kyle Gilbert

  • Checking into creating a website/ team store for incentives for participation in the wellness plan.

  • Working with TUSA to create an incentive program for employees. 

Mentor's suggestions/guidance for short-term goals:

  • Working with various campus departments to promote campus synergy.

  • Sending emails to campus regarding activities.

Steps mentee will take before next meeting with mentor:

  • Sending an email to campus about workout/fitness opportunities.

Medium-range goals:

  • Continue to develop and grow as a professional and within the institution. 

  • Increasing involvement and collaboration on campus while remaining balanced. 

  • Steps to take to get there:

  • Putting self out there to collaborate with other departments.

  • Seek alternative methods to increase involvement in the wellness program.

Mentor suggestion:

  • Continue to consistently work on wellness project even during busy times continue to grind through.

  • Understand that rebuilding the wellness program is a process and will not be changed overnight and needs time and buy in.

Long range goals:

  • Help support partner as she finishes Ph.D.

  • Job search together.

  • Hopefully, find a career in athletics either in advising or coaching. 

What options does mentee have to consider in order to reach those goals?

  • Increase involvement and experience at TU. 

  • Where to find next career may have to go to entry level again.

Mentor suggestions:

  • Keeping options open considering.

  • Further education and certifications.

  • Being open to moving to a less desirable location to get more experience.
